SANTA CLARA, Santa Clara County — Santa Clara’s Henry Schmidt Park, at 555 Los Padres Boulevard, is undergoing a major rehabilitation that the city says began February 2, 2026 and is expected to last roughly 14 months.
The park project page says the neighborhood building will remain open during construction, and a portion of the field and meadow and the basketball court are intended to remain available. The schedule lists typical weekday construction hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding city holidays.
Which facilities can families use?
Residents should follow on-site notices and current updates before relying on the availability of a particular playground or path. The city has published plans and conceptual imagery but those do not mean completed facilities have opened. The park’s broader grounds and amenities may be subject to temporary restrictions.
